SURF CONTEST INFORMATION:
RESULTS FOR 2011 Surf Fest!

The 8th Annual Chip Miller Surf & Turf will be held Thursday; JULY 28, 2011 (please be at the beach no later than 7:30 am to check-in) at the 7th Street Surfing Beach located in Ocean City, NJ. This year promises to be the biggest and best yet, especially with the new addition of the golf tournament. We're excited to include the "Turf" or golf tournament into the mix for this years festivities. The most popular portion of the Chip Miller Surf & Turf is the parent/child heat. New this year: NO ON-BEACH REGISTRATION due to the overwhelming response we've received in the past couple of years the heats become too full.

Also all the major surf company's contribute product for beach giveaways and raffle prizes for the after party. The Chip Miller Surf & Turf is infamous because of all the support that's given industry wide, come see for yourself! The other unique element of this event is all the local reps in the area come down and set up tents and hand out stickers and posters to stoke the kids out! A special appearance will be made by a surf celebrity, brought to you by Ocean Minded, they'll be happy to sign autographs and hang out during the competition. This is a true family event and we sometimes wonder if the parents are having more fun than the kids!!!

OUR MISSION:

In December 2003, Chip Miller was diagnosed with a little-known disease called Amyloidosis. Sadly, due to complications from the Amyloidosis, the world lost an incredibly special human being on March 25, 2004. Had Chip and his doctors been aware of the symptoms of the disease when they first presented, this legend might still be with us today.

AMYLOIDOSIS occurs when enough abnormal protein, called amyloid, builds up in one or more organs to cause a malfunction. As an abnormal protein, amyloid originates in bone marrow. The heart, kidneys, nervous system and gastrointestinal tract are most often affected by the disease. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS of Amyloidosis depend on the organs affected. The wide range of symptoms makes it difficult to diagnose.

THE MISSION of the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation is to empower people with the knowledge and understanding of Amyloidosis for earlier detection, ensuring a better quality of life for those afflicted with the disease and to help science find the cures.
